Cambodia Casinos

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just across the border from nearby Thailand, where casino wagering is not allowed. Eight casinos are based in a relatively tiny area in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent area, a three to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest betting centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing income gained from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million, and there are a number of controls constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; although, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 1700, and even though visas are allegedly required to cross, there are methods around this, as is accurate of many borders.

The original Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary ship gambling hall, highlights 150 slot machines and 60 table games. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of 150 slot machine games and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machine games and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and 66 of the familiar gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 casinos in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around vacation and hotel compound that features numerous luxuries on top of the casino, which contains 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machines and eighty eight tables.
